Justin Everette: From Electrical Training to Amtrak Red Cap
Justin Everette turned ambition into action through the Job Corps program, starting with Electrical training at Woodland Job Corps Center in Laurel, Maryland. Determined to go further, he advanced to the TCU/IAM Advanced Transportation Training Program at Potomac Job Corps Center, where he gained the specialized skills needed to enter the transportation industry.
While enrolled in TCU, Justin didn’t just study—he worked part-time jobs and saved more than $16,000, showing a level of discipline and drive that set him apart. His instructors also helped him earn his driver’s license, one of the final hurdles he needed to clear before beginning his career.
After successfully completing the program, Justin was offered a position as a GEB Red Cap with Amtrak at Union Station—a role that puts him right in the heart of the nation’s rail network and on track for long-term success.
“The TCU/IAM program gave me a chance to get a valuable career in the transportation industry,” Justin shared. “Without TCU, I’m not sure where I would be today.”
Justin’s journey is a testament to the life-changing opportunities Job Corps and TCU training can provide when paired with hard work and determination.
