Nayshyra Hill is a shining example of how hard work, persistence, and quality training can open the door to an exciting and high-paying career in the rail industry.
Initially beginning her journey at Kittrell Job Corps Center in North Carolina, Nayshyra completed her first trade in Facilities Maintenance, gaining foundational skills in construction, repair, and systems upkeep. Her drive for more opportunity led her to enroll in the TCU/IAM Advanced Transportation Training Program, where she continued to grow professionally and personally.
Today, Nayshyra is proud to have launched her career as an Assistant Signal Person with Union Pacific Railroad in Council Bluffs, Iowa. In this role, she plays a key part in maintaining and servicing the essential signal systems that keep rail operations safe and efficient.
Earning $36.43 per hour, Nayshyra is making more than $75,000 annually — a remarkable achievement and a strong testament to where skilled training and determination can lead.
